The Scorecard Was Step 1. We Need You for Step 2.

Each year, Prosperity Now releases its Scorecard because we believe that data is critical to advocates’ ability to advance more inclusive and equitable policies in all 50 states and DC. We crunch the numbers for 115 different measures to paint a picture of how families are faring and what their lawmakers are doing to help, we write analysis to help you tell a story about the needs and solutions in your community, and we offer tools to build your capacity around advocacy, communications and more. The reality, however, is that putting the data at your fingertips is only one piece of the puzzle.

Another critical piece of the prosperity puzzle? You.

We need your voice to understand how the issues we see playing out on a national level are impacting your community. We need your expertise to guide our approaches to outreach and advocacy. And we need your experiences and those of the people you serve to ensure that our work has its intended impact of clearing pathways to prosperity for everyone, especially those who need it the most.

For this reason, we’ve designed a series of Virtual Regional Listening & Strategy Sessions. These sessions are an ideal time for you to gather with peers in your region to talk about the challenges you’re experiencing, share ideas for solutions that are addressing those challenges and offer us your sense of the ways we can better support your community. When we first convened these sessions in 2017, we had planned for them to be a one-time conversation, but they offered an important lesson: we can’t achieve the change we want to see in the world without you at the table.

The Virtual Regional Listening & Strategy Sessions kicked off Monday with an insightful conversation that included members of the Prosperity Now Community in the Mid-Atlantic Region (Delaware, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia & West Virginia) and was facilitated by Robin McKinney of the CASH Campaign of Maryland. The remaining nine conversations are still forthcoming, with sessions starting this afternoon and running through March 1. Each conversation is facilitated by a Community Champion, and will serve as a key input for how we strategize over the course of the year.
